Autumn/Winter news ‘25

We had another of Dr Martin Lavelle’s very popular physics talks in November. This time he discussed quantum theory – it’s enormous power in describing how the natural world operates at its tiniest level, contrasting with scientists’ difficulties in grasping just what sort of reality it represents.

Earlier in the month we restarted our Discussion Group at Cafe Momus and had an enjoyable evening discussing how humanists celebrate (or not!) at Christmas, and how easier it is to separate an artist from their work when they are revealed to be not very nice people.

Early in December we had our usual end of year buffet in the Cellar Bar at the Fortescue. Over twenty joined us for great evening of food and discussion, as well as helping raise some money of Pride in Plymouth.
