“The God of Small Things” is the story of the childhood experiences of fraternal twins Rahel and Esthappen whose lives are destroyed by the "Love Laws" that lay down "who should be loved, and how. And how much." Set in the state of Kerala, on the southernmost tip of India, the book is a description of how the small things in life affect people's behaviour and their lives. It was the début novel of Indian writer Arundhati Roy and won the Booker Prize in 1997.

We'll meet in the alcove at the far end of the bar (aka "The Naughty Corner"!) - go down a couple of steps and we'll be on your left.
