In this blog you'll find details of our past events, as well as other information about what Plymouth Humanists get up to

Austerity’s Victims

Our first talk of 2022 was on an important, but sadly neglected and misunderstood topic.

Season’s greetings from all of us on the Plymouth Humanists committee and thanks for your continued support as a full member of our group.  We hope you have a joyful Yule/happy Solstice/merry Christmas and a good New Year (Drawing by Professor Alice Roberts, Humanists UK President)

Ariane Sherine - How to Live to 100

Our last talk of 2021 was a welcome return of Ariane Sherine, who came to talk to us about her latest book, ‘How to Live to 100’.

Robin Ince - The Importance of Being Interested

We had pretty much a full house to hear Robin Ince speak about his latest book “The Importance of Being Interested”, our talk for November.

As ever, Robin was very funny and entertaining, and gave all who came along a really good evening.

Thanks to Robin for offering to come and speak to us, and the B-Bar for handling a much larger than usual audience.

Sunday Brunch October 2021

It’s been a while since we were last at Boston Tea Party for a Sunday Brunch, but we’re pleased to report it’s still as great a place for a drink and a snack as it ever was.  Nine of us were able to come along and we spend an enjoyable couple of hours there.
