Moral Luck

Our August talk was our most popular online event to date.  The American philosopher Aaron Rabinowitz talked to us about Moral Luck.

Moral Luck is the idea that all of our choices, in the end, just boil down to the luck of the draw.  Our genes, our upbringing, and the circumstances we find ourselves in are all beyond our control. We like to kid ourselves we do have some choices left that are purely our own, but event that can be difficult to rigorously justify.  It can be a very difficult idea to accept, but Aaron believes it can be liberating and give us a more compassionate view of the people around us.
