Film: I Am Not Your Negro

Culture Club
Date: Monday, 16 October 2017 19:00

Venue: Jill Craigie Cinema, Plymouth University

I Am Not Your Negro is a journey into black history that connects the past of the Civil Rights movement to the present of #BlackLivesMatter. This critically acclaimed film questions black representation in Hollywood and beyond, and ultimately by confronting the deeper connections between the lives and assassination of these three leaders, challenges the very definition of what America stands for.

A group of us are planning to see the film at Plymouth University on Monday the 16th Oct at 19:00. All are welcome to join us, and we’ll probably go for a drink afterwards to discuss the issues the film raises. We'll met up ouside the cinema before the film starts. Note that you’ll need to buy your own tickets - see the link below
