Book Club - May '16

May’s book club discussed Jonathan Safran Foer’s ‘Eating Animals’, an examination of the case for and against eating farmed animals.

We all agreed that Foer’s argument against eating meat was the clear winner, but we still had a lively chat on the subject. Amongst other things we tried to understand my so few people seem to accept the moral case for vegetarianism and veganism, and how best to get meat consumption at least reduced, if not eliminated entirely.  When such a reduction in suffering can be achieved by such a comparatively minor change in habits, it’s frustrating that so few people have adopted a vegan diet.
